WELCOME
For persons with spinal injury or other motor impairment living in Vancouver is without equal. We have little snow to deal with, most sidewalks have curb cuts, we have disabled sailing, wheelchair-accessible swimming pools, miles of seawall to traverse, public markets, a wide variety of accessible venues, a public transportation system that accommodates wheelchairs, and HandyDart & wheelchair cabs for those who don't drive. BC Living Independent Services provides a care model enabling independent living in Vancouver by those with physical disabilities.

CLIENT'S QUOTE
"... I work during the day and need care mornings and evenings to help with personal care, cooking and housekeeping. At nights I need a 2am turn and as every spinal injury person knows, unforseen incidents happen. I need help then too however I do not have 24 care funding nor do I want staff sitting around in my apartment. The shared care model which BCLIS provides has been the absolute perfect solution for me and I believe is for any disabled person looking to lead an independent life. I could not recommend it more."
